Anya Taylor-Joy doesn’t want hair in the ‘Mad Max’ prequel to Furiosa, but director George wouldn’t agree.
According to costume designer Jenny Beavan, who will work on this feature film, the actress wants to shave her head to embody this character previously played by Charlize Theron in the film released in 2015.
Speaking to Variety, Jenny said, “She wants it but George doesn’t. So I don’t know if she will or not.”
Anya will appear alongside Chris Hemsworth and Tom Burke in this new film, which is scheduled for release on May 24, 2024.
Speaking about her role, the star said on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast: “I fell in love with Furiosa, the way Charlize portrayed her. She did such a great job and it was so beautiful, I can’t even think of the fact that I’m going to follow in his footsteps. It must be something different because it’s impossible.”
The actress is currently starring in Robert Eggers’ The Northman, and recently spoke to NME about the Peaky Blinders series ending after six seasons.
“It’s such a stylized series,” she said. “The sets are beautiful and everyone is so happy, we had a great time.”
