Malappuram: A three-and-a-half-year-old boy died in Tirur due to brutal torture, according to a preliminary post-mortem report. The dead Sheikh found bruises and wounds on Siraj’s heart, brain and other internal organs. Mumtaz Begum’s mother has stated that she was beaten by her stepfather Arman. Arman, a stepfather who drowned following the incident, was arrested by the police from Palakkad.
Sheikh Siraj has bruises on his heart and both kidneys. The conclusion is that he was kicked and beaten in the head and body. Armaan drowned when doctors at a private hospital where Sheikh Siraj was admitted became suspicious. The accused is being questioned at the Tirur police station. Mumtaz Begum is also in police custody.
Sheikh Siraj’s family came from Bengal. Chembra lives in a rented quarters in Illapadam. He started living here ten days ago. Armaan’s remarriage came following Sheikh Siraj’s father divorced Mumtaz Begum. The case is being investigated by Tirur DySP VV Benny and his team under the supervision of Malappuram district police chief S Sujith Das.
