Philadelphia Flyers goalie season Carter Hart is possibly over due to a lower-body injury, various media report.

The goalie appeared to injure his right leg Tuesday night in a 9-2 loss to the Washington Capitals. Fallen in combat in the first period, Hart did not return to the game thereafter.

Hart’s injury isn’t the same one he had to deal with in late March, Flyers head coach Mike Yeo said.

In 45 games this season, Hart is 13-24-7 with a 3.16 goals-against average and .905 save percentage.

Martin Jones et Felix Sandstrom are currently the Flyers’ No. 1 and No. 2 goaltenders in Hart’s absence.

Knies won’t join the Leafs for the start of the season

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Matthew Knies has announced he will return to the University of Minnesota next season.

The 19-year-old forward scored 15 goals and 18 assists in 33 games in his first year in the NCAA.

Knies had been selected in the second round, 57e overall, by the Leafs in the 2021 draft.

Jack Campbell should be the starting goaltender for the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight against the Washington Capitals.

Campbell has missed his last two games with an injury unrelated to the rib injury that has been bothering him recently.

The 30-year-old is 27-9-5 with a 2.72 GAA and .912 save percentage this year.

The defender Jake Muzzin is also expected to return after missing Tuesday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres.

Wheeler the Revenant

The Winnipeg Jets host a comeback on Friday against the Florida Panthers as they battle for a playoff berth.

Interim head coach Dave Lowry has confirmed that the captain Blake Wheeler will be back in training, while the striker Mark Scheifele did not make the trip, he whose state of health is reassessed on a daily basis.

Wheeler suffered an upper-body injury in the Jets’ 3-1 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on April 6.

The forward has 12 goals and 54 points in 57 games this season.

The Jets are sixth in the Central Division and seven points behind the Dallas Stars for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with eight games remaining.
