In the new geopolitical and economic configuration, Tunisia and the Gulf countries have been able to diversify their portfolio of economic activities and investments, by expanding their potential markets of clients and consumers. Despite global conflicts and the health crisis (Covid-19), which have slowed down investment flows, they continue to flow and have regained momentum, despite multiple political and socio-economic difficulties. that Tunisia has experienced to boost its economic growth and balance its trade balance.

Tunisia presents constants likely to favor the attraction of petrodollars: firstly an economic openness and a declared desire to deepen reforms and attract foreign capital, then a political proximity with the Gulf monarchies, and a economy that offers profitable investment opportunities.

Notwithstanding these difficulties, it is called today to restart the economic machine within the framework of economic diplomacy and to develop major FDI. It must take advantage of its specific relations with certain friendly Gulf countries to conclude fruitful partnership agreements and strengthen support structures for economic development. Knowing that our country is today the subject of renewed interest thanks to the geopolitical reconfiguration in progress. It is making a strong diplomatic return to the Gulf countries and a revitalization of bilateral cooperation and the development of investment and trade.

The intensity of economic cooperation between Tunisia and the Gulf monarchies is also illustrated by agreements, having already been negotiated and signed, in different areas. This diplomatic and economic forcing of Tunisia and its partners in the Gulf countries is already producing tangible results, since Tunisian companies have expressed their great desire to invest more in these countries.

The interest given to the Gulf market imperatively requires the strengthening of the interactive network of economic and commercial affairs managers at our diplomatic and consular missions in these countries, the intensification of efforts to develop periodic reports on the systems in place in accreditation countries with a view to promoting national products, attracting foreign investment and increasing the volume of exports.
