Tinder looks back on its dating plans in the metaverse

Tinder is reviewing its ambitions for future meetings in the metaverse. According to the American site The Verge, the dating platform made the announcement during the presentation of its disappointing quarterly results. In this context, the company also announced that it was abandoning its in-app currency project Tinder Coins and that CEO Renate Nyborg was leaving the company following less than a year.

Renate Nyborg had presented ambitious plans for the “Tinderverse”, the Tinder-style metaverse. Since it is not yet known what will or will not really work in the metaverse, the dating platform is currently reducing its investment in the project. Tinder, however, intends to move the project forward in due time and under the right circumstances.
