The grandfather of Lucio Dupuy, the child murdered in November 2021 in the city of Santa Rosa, said that with the reading of the verdict of the trial for the crime of his grandson “a cycle closes”, while asking that “the Judgment be just for such an aberration.”
“A cycle closes and a fight begins. We will fight for the remaining children. With ‘Lucito’ we couldn’t get there on time. We want the ruling to be fair for such an aberration. For destroying a family and an entire town by killing Lucio the way they did it,” Ramón Dupuy said this morning in a dialogue with the TN news channel, referring to the ruling of the trial court that will determine the authorship and criminal responsibility. the child’s mother, Magdalena Espósito Valenti, and her partner, Abigail Páez.
The man made reference to the decision of the defendants not to be sentenced and admitted that he would have liked them to be present “so that they feel the sentence in their face.”
In turn, Ramón stated that Esposito and Páez spend their stay in jail as “a honeymoon and vacation.”
“They have a television, they have a stereo, they have a box spring, they cook their own food. They eat better than the other recluses. They are made queens. Many times it was criticized that they were beaten up, it’s a lie. They can’t touch them in there,” Dupuy said.
In this sense, Lucio’s grandfather claimed: “We ask that they not stay together, but the capacity of the prison does not allow them to be separated. They have a pavilion to themselves. I want them to be convicted and separated. The rest is in the hands of my lawyer.”
Finally, Ramón considered that the murder of his grandson will be a “hinge case” for the rights of children in Argentina.
“It will be a before and after. He can’t have died the way he did without changing anything. We have to stare at childhood, ”she concluded.
Lucio Dupuy case: security operation
The security authorities of the province of La Pampa diagrammed for this Thursday an operation that was mounted in the surroundings of the courts of Santa Rosa, where from the morning a march will take place demanding justice for the crime of Lucio Dupuy which was summoned by the child’s paternal relatives.
As confirmed by the sources, the absence of the defendants Magdalena Espósito Valenti and her partner, Abigail Páez, at the time the sentence was read slowed down the security operation of the La Pampa Police.
“The Headquarters Command is planning and diagramming an operation according to the circumstances of the case, because the defendants will not be present at the reading of the verdict,” a source from the La Pampa Police Public Relations department told Télam.
“All preventive measures will be taken to preserve order and guarantee the tranquility of the people who attend to hear the sentence in the vicinity of the judicial city,” he added.
A march is planned for this Thursday to accompany the Dupuy family that was summoned by Christian, Lucio’s father, to whom the nun Martha Pelloni and people from La Pampa, Córdoba, Mendoza and Santa Fe have already guaranteed their presence.
