One of the most important football matches in Podkarpacie in 2024 is ahead of us. Today at 8.30 p.m. at the Municipal Stadium in Rzeszów, CWKS Resovia will host Stal Rzeszów in the 92nd Rzeszów derby.
The well-known saying “Derby has its own rules” fits perfectly to the clash of two teams from Rzeszów, because the results of their duels did not always agree with their position in the table.
The match between the two leading teams from the capital of Podkarpacie has always aroused the greatest emotions among fans from our region and attracts crowds of fans to the stadium.
So far, both teams have faced each other in 91 official matches, which include league and cup matches. Resovia was on top 36 times, Stal 34 times, and 21 matches resulted in a draw.
In addition to those mentioned, both teams played many friendly and sparring matches.
The first derby took place on May 10, 1945. Resovia defeated OMTUR PZL 6:2.
The last time Resovia and Stal faced each other was last fall. The team from ul. was on top. Hetmańska 69, defeating the local rival 2:1.
