In response to the government’s recommendation to lower prices, the food industry, including Nongshim, and the confectionery and bakery industries, such as SPC, cut the prices of some products from the 1st. However, it is pointed out that the price reduction effect experienced by consumers will not be significant as the prices of representative products of each company are maintained.

According to the food industry, Nongshim cut the factory prices of Shin Ramyun and Shrimp Crackers by 4.5% and 6.9%, respectively. At retail stores, the price of a bag of Shin Ramyun has been reduced from 1,000 won to 950 won, and shrimp crackers from 1,500 won to 1,400 won.

Ottogi cut the price of 15 ramen products, including Jinjjamppong, Snack Noodles, and Sesame Ramen, by an average of 5% on the same day.

Samyang Foods is lowering the prices of 12 products, including Samyang Ramen, Jjazzaroni, Tasty Ramen, and Yeolmu Bibimmyeon, by an average of 4.7% starting this day. The price cut rate is 4.2% for Samyang ramen, 4.7% for jjazzaroni, and 15.3% for radish mixed noodles.

Paldo will cut the consumer price of 11 ramen products in turn from this day. The reduction rate averages 5.1%.

These companies lowered their prices because the government recommended price cuts, citing reasons such as falling international wheat prices. In the same vein, confectionery and bakery companies also lowered their prices.

SPC, which owns brands such as Paris Baguette, cut the price of 30 types of bread, including loaves and baguettes, by an average of 5%.

Lotte Well Food lowered the price of three products, Pada Coconat, Lossan, and Zeke, by 100 won each. Haitai Confectionery lowered the original price of Ivy by 10%.

However, Nongshim only lowered the price of Shin Ramyun and Shrimp Crackers, while Ottogi maintained the price of Jin Ramyun and Samyang Foods maintained the price of popular products such as Buldak Stir-fried Ramen. Lotte Well Food also kept the prices of Choco Pepero and Kokkal Corn the same.
