According to ESPN, the Phoenix Suns will officially change hands in the next two weeks, just before the NBA Trade Deadline on February 9. The new owner Mat Ishbia will thus succeed Robert Sarver and will have control over the various transactions involving the Arizona franchise.

Though former Suns owner Robert Sarver was suspended by the league in Sept. 2021, Sarver still retained the authority over the signing, acquisition or trade of any player with a salary in excess of the league-wide average player salary, sources said. https://t.co/dG0haSBMQm
