Tom Brady to Return to Gillette Stadium as Fox Broadcaster for Patriots-Packers Game

Former New England quarterback Tom Brady is set to return to Gillette Stadium on Sunday, marking his first appearance at Foxborough since August 2025 as he takes his spot in the broadcast booth for Fox Sports, according to coverage from Yahoo Sports.

Sunday’s matchup features the Patriots hosting the Green Bay Packers at 4:25 p.m. It will be the first time Brady calls a game involving his former team since taking over as Fox’s lead color commentator for NFL games, joining primary play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt in the booth, with Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi reporting from the sidelines.

Fox Sports released a social media teaser video highlighting Brady’s career achievements in New England, where he spent 20 seasons after being drafted in 2000, earning six Super Bowl titles across nine appearances. While Brady enters his third season calling games for the network, scheduling and team performance previously kept Fox’s top broadcast crew away from New England fixtures. The 2024 Patriots finished with a 4-13 record under Jerod Mayo, whereas last year’s squad rallied to 14 wins and a run to Super Bowl LX.

Brady Praises Maye Ahead of Primetime Matchup

Both teams enter Sunday’s contest holding identical 5-3 records. The Patriots feature young quarterback Drake Maye, while the Packers counter with Jordan Love.

Brady previously drew criticism from some supporters when he stated he lacked a “dog in the fight” regarding the outcome of Super Bowl LX. However, he has offered strong backing for Maye’s progression during the current campaign.

I think it shows a ton of mental toughness, Brady said last month regarding Maye’s recovery from a slow start. He got off to a slow start. Look, he’s still a young quarterback. He’s only in year three. He’s got a great play-caller in Josh McDaniels. They’re figuring out what they’re good at. That’s what the Patriots always do, and early in the season.

Weekend Celebrations at Gillette Stadium

Brady’s return coincides with additional franchise celebrations in Foxborough. Rob Gronkowski is scheduled to be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame on Saturday.

Brady and Gronkowski combined for 90 career touchdowns during their nine seasons as teammates, representing the second-highest total for any quarterback-receiver combination in NFL history. Following his playing career, Brady was inducted into the team’s hall of fame in 2024, and Gillette Stadium unveiled a 17-foot statue honoring him in August 2025. He will become eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2028.
