The British chef Heston Blumenthal, invited for this tenth week of competition, had challenged the candidates to achieve perfect cooking of the potato. Belgian through and through, Arnaud, who was to present a plate with Lucie, wanted to offer a revisited version of the traditional American fries. An idea that did not inspire his adventure companion. “I don’t see how I’m going to be able to give emotion when it doesn’t speak to me”, said the candidate. Convinced by his recipe, Arnaud then made him understand that it was not time for procrastination but for cooking. “I’ll tell you one thing: we’re not going to talk about it again for three hours, but now we have to hurry because I’m not going home today”, he told her. “On the other hand, gently my darling”, replied the candidate, annoyed.
Glenn Viel intervenes
Glenn Viel, who did not want his two foals to tear themselves apart, then intervened to ease the tension. “We stop this bullshit. We try to forget a little. A little positivity, is it possible? So here we go, please.”
Reframed by their team leader, Arnaud and Lucie finally buried the hatchet to bring out a plate which, unsurprisingly, failed to convince Heston Blumenthal.
The British culinary star has decided to reinstate Lilian who, after her surprise retirement last week, has been offered a second chance. A favorite of the event, the manager of a hypermarket chose to return to the brigade of its former boss, Paul Pairet. Pascal and Mickaël, the cooks of Philipe Etchebest, also qualified for the rest of the adventure while the other candidates had to compete in an eliminatory test around citrus fruits.
Arnaud collapses
Gilles Goujon, who judged this event, criticized Arnaud, who had chosen to prepare a lemon meringue pie, for a cruel lack of originality. Faced with the stakes of the event, the Belgian candidate lost his means and collapsed behind his stove. However, he was picked up by the guest chef and was able to rejoin Glenn Viel’s team alongside Sébastien (who changed teams at the end of this ordeal).
It was her teammate, Lucie, who finally left the adventure while Thibaut, eliminated last week, was able to rejoin the adventure as a solo candidate.
