The college is back and with it the recommendations of what to see in this first weekend of college football. In this week where there is still no NFL, the NCAAF takes over the weekend games, so we will have games from Thursday to Sunday night.

Despite the fact that the week has already started with the games on Thursday and Friday, en this note of recommendations we will focus on the matches on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. This being a week where there are not a large number of games between ranked, we will highlight those games that have a particular reason to watch them.

It must be taken into account that several of the universities considered great in college football choose to use this first week to face a much lower level team. And this is no coincidence since the big universities pay the “small” ones to come and play on their field, so it is a common practice and is used quite regularly.

#5 LSU Tigers vs. #8 Florida State Seminoles – Domingo – 20.30 ARG / 18.30 MÉX / 01.30 ESP

We start with a strong dish, a game that, if we were at the end of the season, we would say could define a participant in the Playoffs. But since the season just started that is very close. What we can say about this game is that it will be one of the most entertaining of the week because it brings together two teams that come with a lot of talent on their roster, with a staff that comes with experience and two great offenses.

The key to the game will depend on which of the two teams can establish their defense. As mentioned before, he is known for the offensive talent that both LSU as Florida Statewith playmakers in almost every position, which is why it will be key to see which of the two defenses manages to prevail and not allow the rival to generate profits. Both defenses have new players coming via transfer, so it’s anyone’s guess how well that unit works for each team.. It is a game that perhaps does not define anything for the playoffs but that can serve as a great boost for this start of two of the candidate teams.

#21 North Carolina Tar Heels vs. South Carolina Gamecocks – Saturday – 20:30 ARG / 18:30 MEX / 01:30 ESP

It is not normal to have this type of rivalry in a game of the first week of college football. That is why it is something that is not only appreciated but also something that has to be enjoyed, because in addition to what has been mentioned, this match brings together two teams that show great potential for this season. North Carolina has one of the best prospects for the 2024 NFL Draft in Drake Maye, while South Carolina, in addition to having an experienced QB like Spencer Rattlershowed great improvement last season and this year he hopes to compete in the SEC.

The key to the game will be in the matchup between the North Carolina offense and the South Carolina defense. One of the big weaknesses the last few seasons in North Carolina was his offensive line, and In front they will have a defense that has complicated rival teams last season, so the time they give Drake Maye inside the pocket will be key. In addition, North Carolina will be without its best receiver: Devontez Walker, who has not received the authorization for his transfer yet, so this will be another challenge for the Tar Heels’ offense.

Colorado Buffaloes vs. #17 TCU Horned Frogs – Saturday – 13.00 ARG / 11.00 MEX / 18.00 ESP

Deion Sanders will have a more than complicated rival in his FBS debut. Photo: The Ralphie Report.

Just saying that this is Deion Sanders’ debut as the coach of an FBS team is reason enough to watch this game.. But when you add to that the fact that the last finalist of the College Football Playoff is in front of you, that becomes an unmissable game. Deion Sanders arrives at FBS College Football with a large number of transfers and looking for a renewal in a university like Colorado that for years has not been able to finish with a winning record.

The key to this game will be whether TCU manages to maintain the level of last year, especially in its defense.. It is a meeting where the Horned Frogs are expected to win by a difference of more than one score, but it must be taken into account that Colorado He has a lot of talent on his roster: one of the best QBs in the FCS in Shedeur Sanders, the best recruit of 2022 in Travis Hunter and the best CB of the class of 2023 in Cormani McClain. They are two new teams and with very little equipment, so individual talent can be a determining factor in this match.

Jugador a ver: Marvin Harrison Jr (#18), WR, Ohio State Buckeyes

Marvin Harrison Jr seems like the great WR that an NFL team will spend a top 5 pick on. Photo: Ohio State Buckeyes.

In this case, there is no better way to start the player recommendations than by talking about the best receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft class.. Marvin Harrison Jr, son of the former player of Indianapolis Coltsshowed a great level last year and gave many reasons to be considered the best WR in the next draft.

His ability to be dangerous on all three levels of the field coupled with a great pass-catching skill set make him a receiver that many NFL teams will want to have.. This Saturday Ohio State will face Indianaa conference team, and it will be a great opportunity to see all that talent on the field. The game starts at 4:30 p.m. in Argentina, at 2:30 p.m. in Mexico and at 9:30 p.m. in Spain.

Other matches to watch:

#9 Clemson Tigers vs. Duke Blue Devils – Monday – 21:00 ARG / 19:00 MEX / 02:00 ESP Boise State Broncos vs. #10 Washington Huskies – Saturday – 16:30 ARG / 14:30 MEX / 21:30 ESP Coastal Carolina Chanticleers vs. UCLA Bruins – Saturday – 23:30 ARG / 21:30 MEX / 04:30 ESP Juan Martín Ramallo

I started watching the NFL around 2010-2011, but on an inconsistent basis. In 2012 I started to like the sport and in 2014 I ended up falling in love with it. The intelligence and strategy with which it is played is something that made me appreciate it a lot. I participate in podcasts and write stories and rankings in the College section. Sick of watching tapes and scouting players, always in a good way. Panther thanks to Cam and above all, to Kuechly.
