The Furby, the talking toy animal that captured the hearts of many children in the 1990s, will soon be back in stores. Game manufacturer Hasbro hopes to unleash the same craze as before with the return of the toy.
The first version of the Furby came on the market 25 years ago. In its first years, it sold 40 million copies worldwide.
Kids loved the Furby. Much to the chagrin of many parents, because the old version had no off button. That meant the Furby often started talking in the middle of the night. The only way to silence the creature was to remove the batteries.
It is not known whether the new version has an off button. Hasbro says that the new Furby looks a lot like the original, but has been given a new look. The new variant is interactive, can dance and responds to hugs. You can also feed the Furby pieces of mini pizza.
The Furby is currently available online. Hasbro has announced that the electronic toys will be back in stores from next month.
