The US version of the new Prius Prime will be equipped with a 2.0-liter in-line 4-cylinder gasoline engine. The entire PHEV system combined with the motor draws out 220hp of power. It is regarding 50% more powerful than the conventional model, and demonstrates the performance of 0-96km/h acceleration in 6.6 seconds.
The battery is a lithium-ion battery with a larger capacity than the conventional model. The cruising range in EV mode has increased by more than 50% compared to the conventional model, reaching a maximum of regarding 40km.
