Several tunnels are closed during these school holidays, sometimes causing huge traffic jams even outside of school periods. Brussels Mobility is taking advantage of the holidays to carry out work. Thus, the Porte de Namur tunnel is completely closed to traffic until the end of the holidays, on November 6. “To regulate traffic, only one lane will be available in the Trône tunnel towards Midi. In the direction of the Basilica, this will be the case in the Louise tunnel,” specifies Brussels Mobility. The work involves removing asbestos from the tunnel.

During this same period, the deck of the Bailli and Vleurgat tunnels will also be reinforced. “To ensure the safety of workers during the installation of the gantries, a high voltage line must be taken out of service,” continues Bruxelles Mobilité. The project also ends on November 6. Several diversions have been put in place. In the direction of La Cambre, traffic will have to be diverted on the surface via rue de Livourne. While the Bailli and Vleurgat tunnels will be completely closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. every night.
