On June 27, a tragedy that would shake the whole of France took place in Nanterre. During a simple roadside check, a young man named Nahel refused to obey the orders of the police. As he was about to flee, a police officer opened fire on the minor, tragically killing him instantly.

Quickly, images showing the seriousness of the facts circulate on social networks and set fire to the powder. In a deleterious climate, riots broke out in the four corners of France and many voices were raised in reaction to this police blunder.

This Sunday, BFMTV was able to obtain the interview of the person behind the video. She claims to have acted like any other citizen and confides “to hear the anger of the French”.

On the morning of the tragedy, the young woman is at her place of work. One of her colleagues tells her that she witnessed a shocking incident and shows her the damning video, which the young woman decides to broadcast. “I felt quite embarrassed to have to go to the police station with this video. I know that police officers do their job well, but when we see that and we know the first version that was given and which was not the reflection of what we saw in the video, I think that I I did well to post it”, she says. “I can hear the anger of the French. If it hadn’t been for the video, what would have been next?

First, on the side of the police, we first defended ourselves by saying that Nahel had wanted to run into the policeman, which had forced him to fire. A version that the young woman wanted to deny.

“I’m not someone who wants light. I just think I did my duty. I could not act as if nothing had happened”, she underlines.

To date, she and her colleague have not yet been interviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
