Tragic accident in Altenfelden: driver (77) dead, pregnant woman (29) flown to hospital

The tragic accident occurred in the intersection area on the B127 at around 1:30 p.m. According to the police, a 77-year-old car driver may have overlooked another car, driven by a 23-year-old from the Rohrbach district, when turning onto the priority road.

There were three other people in the 23-year-old’s car, including a pregnant woman. The 29-year-old was sitting in the back seat.

The collision was violent – the older man’s car was badly dented on the left side and turned 90 degrees. Because the 77-year-old was trapped in the car, he had to be cut out of the wreckage by the fire department. Any help came too late for him – he died at the scene of the accident.

The pregnant 29-year-old was picked up by the “Christophorus 10” rescue helicopter and taken to a hospital. The 23-year-old and the other two people in the car (20, 25) were taken to Rohrbach Hospital by ambulance.
