One of the two victims of the attack in a rest home in Gossoncourt (Tirlemont) on Friday, a 91-year-old man, died on Saturday morning in hospital, the Leuven prosecutor’s office announced.
The suspect, a 37-year-old man, was arrested by police immediately following the incident. Originally from Brussels, the 30-year-old broke into the “Huize Nazareth” nursing and care home in the early morning and attacked two residents there for an as yet undetermined reason. The second victim, an 89-year-old woman, is still in hospital.
