An accident occurred during a baptism ceremony in Birmingham, England on the 8th. Robert Smith, a 61-year-old man, was baptized for the second time. Unexpectedly, he drowned. No one else noticed at the time and continued to broadcast live. The pastor later said she saw Smith dancing with Jesus in the garden.
According to the “Daily Mail” report, Smith died after a christening ceremony at a private home in Birmingham. From the video, it can be seen that Smith crawled into the pool tremblingly, and then submerged in the water and became motionless. Another photo shows Smith’s head floating on the water with a man beside him. Before Smith’s death, Cheryl Reid-Bartley, the female pastor involved in the case, held a live broadcast on Facebook.
Bartley said Smith traveled more than 400 kilometers to be baptized before his death. Smith suffered from Parkinson’s disease and had become estranged from his family because of his work. It is understood that Bartley is the founder and elder of the church, and she had previously promoted the missionary trip on the community and held a white party to invite everyone to dance with the Holy Spirit of God. Bartley said Smith saw heaven during his baptism and died not wanting to come back.
Bartley also said, “I don’t know what God’s plan is. Smith wants to secure his place in heaven and talk to the Lord.” She went upstairs to change out of her wet clothes, and then Jesus came to her and said nothing. After saying one word, she went to heaven to see Smith, who danced with Jesus in the gardens of heaven.
According to the Mirror, the church fan page only has 12,000 followers, but the baptism video has been viewed more than 24,000 times and has now been deleted. Police said they would investigate the cause of Smith’s death. After Bartley was arrested, he is now on parole and the investigation is ongoing.
