Three weeks after the deadly brawl which claimed the life of a biker during the marquee of Péronnes, a new tragedy strikes a festivity in the region, in the entity of Ath this time.
While the Ducasse d’Isières had been in full swing since Thursday, a fight broke out during the night from Friday to Saturday in the village square. A man, who according to our information would be in his forties, died under the blows of an individual known to the police. “This person created an altercation and dealt a fatal blow to the victim in the head,” said a witness.

The emergency services could not do anything to save the victim, who died at the scene. “Everything has been done to try to resuscitate him on the spot”, indicates the organization which is forced to cancel this weekend of festivities. “We did not see ourselves continuing after such a dramatic event.”
Is there a link with the deadly brawl in Péronnes? The investigation will have to determine it. “If that were to be the case, we will take drastic measures to ensure the security of our next events, in collaboration with the local police and the federal police”, assures Bruno Lefebvre with the watermark of the ducasse of Ath which must take place in less than three weeks.
