The collapse of a wall measuring about 25 meters by 7 meters high, in a building in the Santa Elena urbanization, was recorded this morning by a cell phone camera and was shared on social networks.
One worker died in the accident while another 8 were injured and transferred to the ISSS in Santa Tecla, some with serious injuries. The deceased was identified as Kevin Hernández Zetino.
The accident occurred at a construction site on Orden de Malta Boulevard and Izalco Street in Antiguo Cuscatlán, department of La Libertad.
In the recording, some workers are heard alerting their colleagues about the collapse.

Personnel from the institutions that make up the National Civil Protection System went to the emergency area to care for the injured people. The Fire Department, Civil Protection, the Medical Emergency System, PNC, and relief bodies were part of the entities that responded to the collapse registered today.
The executive director of the Solidarity Fund for Health, Carlos Núñez, came to the area to verify the situation first-hand: “A slope of earth fell away from the right side wall and buried people. Occupational safety is poor at this location. Yesterday it rained a lot and I would believe that that contributed to this wall falling away and this unfortunate event happening,” he said.
