Tragic Death at Xoco General Hospital: Investigation Underway

MEXICO CITY (appro).- This Friday morning, a woman died in a gardener of the Xoco General Hospital located in the Benito Juárez mayor’s office; “So far the causes of death are unknown,” according to the Mexico City Health Secretariat (Sedesa).

Some rumors say that he was denied medical assistance, however, others say that he was wandering around the place in an “inconvenient state”, according to the newspaper La Prensa.

At 11:36 a.m., the Headquarters shared an information card on its Twitter account in which it regretted the event and pointed out that the deceased “was not a patient of said unit” and that it was not recorded that she was requesting medical attention in the ER.

The agency reported that, around 6:30 a.m., the non-commissioned officer in charge of access saw the person on the floor and noted “the absence of vital signs,” for which he informed the corresponding authorities.

According to reports from the SSC, the deceased was a woman who allegedly approached the access of medical personnel at night, “where sometimes homeless people sleep,” the Headquarters emphasized.

The capital instance assured that, “so far, the causes of the death of the woman are unknown.”

Relatives of the victim

At 9:16 a.m., on his Twitter account, @torrichris, who identified himself as a “relative” of the deceased person, requested support from the capital authorities: “@BJAlcaldia, @GobCDMX, @supercivicosmx, @inakimanero, @VILLALVAZO13 we have a deceased family member outside the Xoco hospital and the Benito Juárez delegation does not want to lift the body. I request the help to be able to bury our relative. Please help.”

Minutes later, the mayor’s office Benito Juárez (@BJAlcaldía) commented: “Good morning. We regret the situation. However, by procedure the public prosecutor must attend. We request support from @FiscaliaCDMX so that the corresponding diligence is carried out. Greetings”.

It was not until 10:49 a.m. that the alleged relative of the victim obtained the requested support, after which he reported:

“I appreciate your words and your appreciable comments. The @FiscaliaCDMX arrived responding to the request. Thank you all so much for raising your voice with me. @inakimanero @grupoacir”.
