Drama near Waregem, in West Flanders. This morning, around 7:115 a.m., a 23-year-old young woman was hit by a garbage truck which was maneuvering in the street.
As our colleagues from Hat Laatste Nieuws report, the truck, while reversing to enter a street, hit the young woman who was in its blind spot. He first thought he had hit a cyclist before realizing that it was a pedestrian, explained the prosecution.
Passersby intervened to help the young woman, before she was taken to hospital. She sadly passed away this followingnoon.
