Chen Xiaojia, a 23-year-old female college student from Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, mainland China, was studying at a university in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. At the end of January, she said she was going to Chengdu to hang out with friends, but her whereabouts were unknown until March 24 when Chen Xiaojia’s body was found under a cliff. According to Xiaojia’s best friend, the other party sent her a message saying “You have to work hard” before setting off, which made her very confused.
According to Chinese media reports, Xiaojia from Xi’an, Shaanxi Province lost contact with her after taking a bus from Xi’an to Mount Emei in Chengdu at the end of January. It was not until March 24 that her mother received a call from the police, telling her that Chen Xiaojia’s body had been found. Immediately, my mother rushed to Mount Emei to try to understand the situation.
The mother recalled that Xiaojia left home on January 29 and went to Chengdu, Sichuan, and did not go to Mount Emei until around February 2. “When my daughter left, she sent a message saying that she was going to Chengdu to play with friends, but there was no “What kind of friends are you looking for?” and Xiaojia didn’t have a boyfriend at that time.
On the evening of February 7, the mother sent a message to her daughter but received no reply. The next morning, the mother sent another message urging her daughter to call back. She called her several times but failed to get through. “I called on February 8. No one answered the phone for a day, so I called the police on February 9.” Two days later, my mother and her friends rushed to the Emeishan Scenic Area.

The mother revealed that police investigation later revealed that the first time Xiaojia went to Mount Emei was by taking a scenic sightseeing bus; the second time was on foot, and after staying overnight on the mountain, she walked down the mountain on the evening of February 7, around 21:40 that day. It once appeared near Lingjue Temple in Leidongping, but the mobile phone signal also disappeared here.
At the same time, Chen Xiaojia’s best friend revealed that she left a message “You have to work hard” before hiking up the mountain, which made the best friend feel that something was not normal and she was also very worried about Xiaojia’s mental state when she went up the mountain. Not long after receiving the message, my best friend replied, “Uh-huh, you have to work hard too, let’s work hard together!” But then she didn’t receive any further response from Xiaojia. The best friend said that Xiao Jia shared the itinerary with her on the 6th and 7th, and the two of them agreed to go home to celebrate the New Year after climbing Mount Emei.
Xiaojia’s mother once said in an interview that when she went out to play in the past, she would usually choose to hike up the mountain when there was no car. However, this time her daughter went to Mount Emei twice and even hiked up and down the mountain. She didn’t know what the situation was.
The mother said that her daughter did not show any intention of committing suicide in daily life. She only suffered from a mild mental illness due to some things last year, but she has recovered after early treatment. Therefore, she was worried about whether her daughter would relapse due to a recurrence of the illness or difficulty walking while going down the mountain. Accidentally fell off a cliff.
