A person died on the evening of Sunday, December 24, after an explosion was heard on the fourth floor of a building in the 6th arrondissement of Marseille, reports Provence . His body was discovered in the rubble. Present on site, the mayor of Marseille Benoît Payan addressed his “condolences and (his) thoughts to the family and loved ones of the victim as well as to the residents of the building and the neighborhood».
The origin of the explosion remains undetermined. A slightly injured person was treated by firefighters, according to our colleagues. Five people were also evacuated. Nine other people living in the adjoining building had to leave their homes.
