This Saturday, Hamas’ military offensive in Israeli territory began in the morning by land, air and sea, catching Israel by surprise. In the attack, militants from one of the Al Qasam Brigades kidnapped several people in areas bordering the Gaza Strip. Videos spread on social networks show the events: people being dragged towards trucks, among them, several women.

The Washington Post reported that one of them, Shani Louk, had been recognized by her family. Tom Weintraub Louk told the American media that the victim was her first cousin and she had been reported missing after a group of terrorists raided a party where Louk was at. Her family, upon learning what happened, tried to contact her and her boyfriend, but they were unable to establish contact with either of them.
With the videos, one of his relatives recognized Louk. Her parents were the ones who confirmed that it was her, as they identified her “by her tattoos and her long dreadlocks.” The young woman’s family has not received information and remained hopeful that she would be found alive. However, in another video released by Hamas, the young woman appears to have been murdered.

Louk, 30, was visiting Israel to attend a peace music festival near the border with the Gaza Strip. On her Instagram, messages of support have begun to appear from all over the world, condemning Hamas’ acts as a degradation of human life.
The young woman was not the only victim, since the videos show other women who were kidnapped and raped by Hamas militants. Other border areas also reported kidnappings of people by the armed group, in which the victims were put into cars by armed people who shot into the sky.
