In the city of Formosa, Argentina, a shocking incident occurred at the hands of a police officer who murdered his ex-girlfriend at the beauty center where she worked. The subject, identified as Sergio Patricio Galván, shot Teresita López in the head and then tried to take her life, but failed.
According to information from Todo Noticias, those involved had a romantic relationship that came to an end after the 35-year-old woman noticed that her partner had aggressive behavior.
According to those close to the secretary of the beauty center, the uniformed man could not overcome the breakup, deciding then to end the woman’s life.
On September 18, the police officer arrived at the establishment where Teresita López worked, took out his service weapon and shot her in the head, pronouncing the phrase “You are mine or no one else’s,” according to witnesses told the aforementioned media.
Later, he locked himself in the bathroom of the facility, where he hit himself in the jaw with the gun. Although he intended to end his life, Sergio Galván did not achieve his goal and was transferred to a care center where he remained hospitalized.
After undergoing different surgeries, the uniformed man recovered from the bullet impact and is currently detained in a penitentiary center for the crimes of quadruple aggravated homicide, use of a firearm and gender violence.
In order to establish the motives for the murder, the authorities reviewed the cell phones of the victim and the aggressor, devices in which, apparently, they had found that the secretary was planning to report the police officer on the same day he ended her life.
Witnesses corroborated this information. “She always said that she was going to report him. She had a lot of evidence on the phone. He was harassing her, sending her messages, making video calls, stopping by here at 9 and, if she wasn’t there, he insulted her. He harassed her all the time,” commented the owner of the beauty center.
For the murder of Teresita López, Sergio Galván could face a life sentence in Argentina. Meanwhile, the investigation into the woman’s death continues. “We are very eager to reach the truth,” said the lawyer for the victim’s family.
