Iran: Execution of 3 people who raped their victims inside fake cosmetic clinics
Today, Tuesday, the Iranian judiciary executed three people convicted of raping women after luring them to a fake plastic surgery clinic and injecting them with anesthetics, according to official sources.
And the “Mizan Online” website of the judiciary reported that the three were convicted of conspiracy in 12 charges related to sexual assault in late 2021 in the province of Hormozgan, southern Iran.
The official of the judiciary in the province, Mojtaba Ghahramani, said that the three “who raped a number of women in an unlicensed beauty salon, were hanged this morning (Tuesday) in Bandar Abbas (city) prison.”
“Mizan” indicated that one of these three, a medical assistant, lured seven victims to the fake clinic through “false advertisements” on the Internet for plastic surgery, injected them with narcotic substances and deliberately raped them, while the others, two nurses who were partners of the convict, were convicted. The first, on charges of rape and drug theft.
According to Amnesty International, Iran ranks second in the world, after China, in terms of execution sentences.
According to Iranian human rights organizations outside Iran, the authorities carried out 582 death sentences by hanging in 2022, the highest toll since 2015, and the authorities carried out the death penalty against at least 354 people in the first six months of the year 2023.
