A medical study: Dental diseases increase the risk of men with weak body and malnutrition.

A recent American study reported that dental diseases, most notably gum disease, cavities and dry mouth, increase the risk of men suffering from body weakness and malnutrition.

The study was conducted by researchers at the American Geriatrics Society, and published its results in the latest issue of the American Geriatrics Society scientific journal.

The researchers previously considered that dental health is a sign of good health, as a previous Japanese study linked the loss of more teeth with an increased risk of dementia among the elderly, while another study reported that people who suffer from gum infections and bleeding teeth are more at risk. Heart disease.

In the new study, the researchers focused on monitoring the impact of dental health on the body and the extent of its weakness, as the researchers monitored, for a period of 3 years, 7 thousand and 735 men in Britain, whose ages ranged from 40 to 59 years.

The researchers examined the participants’ teeth, and their susceptibility to diseases such as tooth loss, gum disease, and decay teeth, dry mouth.

The researchers tested the effect of teeth on body frailty, which is fatigue, poor grip strength, slower walking speed, weight loss, or lower levels of physical activity. The researchers found that dental diseases negatively affect the strength of the body, especially in the elderly, as it makes it difficult to eat and swallow food, to speak, to obtain adequate nutrition, and even to smile.

The researchers said that men who suffer from dental problems are more likely to have a weak body than others, as this affected their movement and daily life, and their ability to perform their usual activities.

They added that these results highlight the importance of oral health, especially for the elderly, in order to become more burden-bearing and function well.
