New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson delivered a personal and concerning update on Friday, revealing that a recent medical emergency was rooted in “unexplained neurological symptoms” that led to his hospitalization. The 24-year-old has been away from the team since Oct. 29, when he was listed on the injury report with an illness, and he missed the Week 8 win at Miami and has been ruled out for Sunday’s home game against Green Bay.
Henderson’s Statement on His Condition
In a statement posted on social media, Henderson explained the nature of his medical situation. Recently, I experienced an unexpected and unusual medical emergency involving a series of unexplained neurological symptoms that required hospitalization for several days,
he wrote. He noted that he underwent extensive medical testing, and while the results of my comprehensive medical testing have come back positive and reassuring, the cause of this remains unknown and unexplainable.
Impact on Physical Functions and Recovery
Henderson stated that the neurological symptoms have affected his physical abilities. These symptoms have affected my strength, coordination, and some of my physical functions,
he said, adding that he will continue working with specialists and physical therapists to focus on his recovery. Henderson emphasized that his long-term well-being is his top priority and asked for continued prayers and privacy as we focus on my health and recovery.
Season and Career Background
This season, Henderson has rushed for 203 yards and one touchdown on 52 carries while also catching five passes for 45 yards in six games as the backup to starter Rhamondre Stevenson. He made the NFL’s all-rookie team in 2025 after compiling 1,132 yards from scrimmage and scoring 10 touchdowns in 17 games. Source
