A much too intrusive fan. On Saturday January 20, New York police arrested a man who tried to break into Taylor Swift’s apartment, located in the Tribeca district of Manhattan.
Police attended the scene after receiving a report that an “agitated person” was attempting to enter the residence where the American superstar lives. ” Upon their arrival, [la police] was informed that the individual had tried to open the door of a building on site,” a New York police official told the American media Page Six.
Although police have not confirmed that the man was trying to enter the “Bad Blood” singer’s residence, a witness confirms seeing the suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, attempt to enter her house. “I don’t know if he knocked or rang the doorbell,” he said, affirming that the man has been roaming the neighborhood for several weeks.
Already known to the courts
According to another resident of the neighborhood, the man had already showed up in the neighborhood with a bouquet of flowers and saying “I want to see Taylor.” Authorities did not specify whether the intruder would be charged with attempted burglary, nor whether Taylor Swift was present at his residence at the time of the incident.
According to the first witness, the police handcuffed the man after speaking with him for a few minutes. An arrest which took place in a “courteous” manner, without the man putting up any resistance. Placed in police custody, the suspect was already known to the courts for not having responded to a summons to the Brooklyn court after receiving an arrest warrant in 2017.

This isn’t the first time fans have tried to break into their idol’s house. In July 2022, a man was threatening on Taylor Swift’s intercom, warning that he would attack her if he and the star could not be “together”, recalls The voice of the North. In January of the same year, another person crashed his vehicle into the facade of Taylor Swift’s New York residence in the hope of returning home.
