Trichy Murder Case: Tamil Nadu Woman and Lover Kill Husband, 5 Arrested

Chennai: Five people, including the woman and her boyfriend, have been arrested in the case of the murder of her husband in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. Prabhu (30), a flower seller, was killed. Prabhu’s wife Vinodini (26), her lover Bharti (23), friends Ruben Babu, Diwakar and Sharwan were arrested. Police said Prabhu’s questioning of Vinodini’s illicit relationship led to the murder. Vinodini and Prabhu have a daughter and a son.

Vinodini, who gave Prabhu sleeping pills, strangled him with the help of Bharti and her friends. An attempt was made to cremate the body near the Tiruchirappalli-Madura highway, but could not due to rain. The body was then cut into two pieces and dumped in the Kaveri and Kollidam rivers. Police said that further investigation is going on in the case.

The incident took place on November 4. The incident came to light on November 5 when the brother came home to meet Prabhu. Vinodini told Prabhu’s brother that her husband had not returned home. Then his brother went to the market in search of Prabhu. But after not seeing him there, he filed a complaint with Samayapuram police. During the investigation, the police found that Vinodini had an affair with Bharti and planned to kill Prabhu.

Vinodini and Bharti had rented a house near Sandhya Gate three months ago. Prabhu knew this. He asks Vinodini to break up with Bharti and fights. Then Prabhu shifted to another house. Vinodini and Bharti did not see each other for 10 days.

Vinodini, who was unwell on November 4, gave sleeping pills to Prabhu in the name of medicine, and along with Bharti strangled him to death. Bharti then called his friends Reuben Babu, Diwakar and Sharwan and planned to cremate the body near the Tiruchirappalli-Madura highway. But could not due to rain. With this, the body was cut into two pieces and left in the Kaveri River and the remaining parts in the Kollidam River, the police said.
