‘Trolley’ Ryu Hyun-kyung, melancholy → hostility towards Kim Hyun-joo… Delicate emotional smoke explosion

[뉴스컬처 김기주 기자] Actor Ryu Hyun-kyung is raising the tension of the play with a dense three-tier emotional performance in ‘Trolley’.

In the SBS Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Trolley’, Ryu Hyun-kyung thoroughly expresses the character’s inner conflict and complex feelings towards the people around him, from strong hostility towards Hye-joo (played by Kim Hyun-joo), frustration from the tragedy of the past, and depressed feelings. It is shaking the game of play.

Seung-hee, whom he plays in the play, is a character who knows that his twin brother, Seung-ho (played by Lee Min-jae), made an extreme choice because of Hye-joo’s false accusations in seeking the settlement money. Moreover, after Seung-ho’s death, he is also a person who is living a hellish life suffering from his mother who is obsessed with the land and himself.

In the broadcast on the 2nd, he brilliantly portrayed the frustration and upset of the mother, Young-shin, who tried to wield her daughter at the risk of her own life to follow her dead son, and the complex mind of Seung-hee, who could not leave the one remaining family. While he was embarrassed by her mother’s coldness, he tried to calm her down, and when he said, “I’ll die with Seung-ho,” his voice begging her to stop, causing pity in the home theater.

On the other hand, Ryu Hyeon-kyung delicately expresses Seung-hee’s changing emotions, bringing life to the character, including feeling sorry for her husband Ki-young (played by Ki Tae-young), who is having a day that is not happy because of herself.

In particular, the moment he met Hye-joo, he not only revealed the cold anger he had been harboring for so long, but also started to build a sharp angle of confrontation with a bloody voice full of hostility, leading to an exciting development.

From the melancholy of Seung-hee, who has no choice but to live in constant frustration due to the incident 20 years ago, to the cold anger towards Hye-joo, he is rapidly emerging as a key figure who causes new conflicts in the play, increasing the level of immersion.

Ryu Hyun-kyung is showing convincing luxury acting in a stormy development. Attention is focused on how he will lead the play in the future, having started blackening in earnest in the windless blues due to endless incidents.
