[The Epoch Times, September 16, 2022](The Epoch Times reporter Daphra comprehensive report) On Thursday (September 15), the judge appointedTrump(Trump’s) proposed senior district judge isspecial chiefto review the FBI from FloridaMar-a-LagoSeized confidential files while refusing to letMinistry of JusticeResume review of these documents.

Federal Judge Aileen Cannon appointedTrumpThe proposed Raymond Dearie is an independent third party”special chief”(Special Master)。

Ministry of JusticeTried to prevent independent arbitrator Dirie from reviewing about 100 classified documents in a court-sanctioned search of 11,000 archives collected on Aug. 8. The Justice Department has appealed the matter to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Judge Cannon“The court finds it inappropriate to accept the government’s conclusions on these important and contentious issues without further review by a neutral third party in an expedited and orderly manner,” it wrote in its ruling on Thursday.

A Justice Department spokesman and Trump’s lawyers did not immediately respond to Archyde.com’ requests for comment.

Judge CannonThe ruling further thwarts the Justice Department’s investigation, as a review by the Special Principal could prevent the Justice Department from making potential criminal charges against Trump.

The judge said Thursday that she will direct Dirie to prioritize the review of classified files. She also directed him to complete a review of all confiscated material by the FBI by Nov. 30.

On Sept. 8, the Justice Department asked a judge to partially lift its previous restrictions that bar investigators from reviewing all documents so they can at least continue to review documents marked classified. They also asked the judge to exclude the classified files from the Special Master’s scrutiny.

Trump’s lawyers disputed the department’s claim that about 100 documents were in fact classified in a filing on Monday (Sept. 12), reminding Cannon that the president generally has the power to declassify the files.

Raid at the FBIMar-a-LagoAbout two weeks later, Trump’s lawyers sought to appoint a special chief to review material in the seized files that could contain attorney-client or executive privilege, a legal doctrine that protects some presidential files from disclosure.

In ruling in favor of Trump’s request on Sept. 5, Cannon rejected the Justice Department’s argument that the files belonged to the government and that executive privilege could not be claimed because Trump was no longer president.

On September 9, Trump and the Department of Justice (DOJ) submitted a total of four candidates for the special commissioner. The Trump team proposed Derie and the famous Florida lawyer Paul Huck Jr. (Paul Huck Jr.). The Justice Department’s nominees are retired Justices Barbara S. Jones and Thomas B. Griffith.

Judge Dirie, 78, was nominated to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York in 1986 by then-President Ronald Reagan. He held that position for decades, serving as Chief Justice of the Court from 2007 to 2011, assuming a senior position on April 3, 2011.

On July 2, 2012, Dirie was appointed to the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) judge until his term expires on July 1, 2019.
