Tuberculosis: More than 500 cases recorded in San Pedro

For the first quarter of 2022, the Center is registering 50 patients. (Aip)

From 2020 to 2021, the San Pedro Tuberculosis Center (Cat) recorded more than 500 cases of tuberculosis, all forms combined, and obtained 342 cures, said Cat social worker, Koffi Laurent, Thursday March 24, 2022 in San Pedro, during an awareness campaign.

Mr. Koffi delivered these statistics in his awareness message delivered during the campaign initiated by the NGO Association for the promotion of the health of women, mothers, children and families (Aprosam), in collaboration with Doctors of the World, the Departmental Directorate of Health and the Tuberculosis Center of San Pedro, as part of World Tuberculosis Day.

He indicated that for the first quarter of the current year, the Center registers 50 tuberculosis patients.

For this awareness day, Aprosam, running the ”Ya no cloth” project for drug users in the locality, targeted these people because tuberculosis is a reality in their community.
