The Turkish president spoke this Wednesday during a meeting within his party. He marked his opposition to the “assassination of Israeli civilians” but also to Tel Aviv’s response against Gaza.
Israel does not behave “like a state” in the Gaza Strip, where the Israeli army launched new raids on Wednesday in response to the bloody attack launched by Hamas, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday.
He denounced “the assassination of civilians on Israeli territory” while assuring that Turkey would “never accept the massacre of innocents in Gaza through constant and indiscriminate bombings”.
“Israel must not forget that if it behaves like an organization rather than a state, it will end up being treated as such,” declared the Turkish head of state, denouncing the “shameful methods” of the army Israeli.
“The reflex of a terrorist organization”
“Bombarding civilian communities, killing civilians, blocking humanitarian aid and trying to present this as exploits can only be a reflex of an organization and not of a State,” insisted the Turkish president.
He usually uses the term “organization” to describe the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), classified as terrorist by Ankara and its Western allies.
“We believe that war must have ethics and that both parties must respect them. Unfortunately, this principle is seriously violated in Israel and Gaza,” he said again, denouncing the “killings of civilians in the territory Israeli”.
