The Turks beat Norway’s Molde 2-1. In the first leg, Galatasaray won 2-3 in Norway. Dries Mertens started and was replaced in the 72nd minute of the game. Galatasaray had opened the scoring at the start of the match by Icardi on penalty (7th). Molde then reacted in the second half via Hestad (66th) but that was not enough to hang the extra time because the Istanbulites scored a second goal in stoppage time with a free kick from Angelino (90 + 3rd).
In other play-offs, Braga progressed at the expense of Panathinaikos after narrowly winning 0-1 in Greece, confirming their 2-1 first leg win. The only goal of the game was scored late in the game by Bruma (83rd). Juankar (90th+1) left the Greeks at 10 after receiving two yellow cards. The Portuguese will play their first group stage since the 2012-2013 season.
Bern Young Boys won 3-0 against Maccabi Haifa, who played in the group stages last season, after the first leg was tied 0-0. The Swiss had scored in the first half via Itten (23rd) and an own goal from Seck (28th), a former Antwerp player between 2018 and 2022. In the second half, it was Ugrinic who scored a third goal for the locals (46th). The Swiss are therefore qualified for the group stage, as in 2021-2022.
On the Belgian side, Antwerp will play their return leg of the play-off on Wednesday in Athens against AEK at 9 p.m.
The draw for the Champions League groups will take place on Thursday August 31 at 6 p.m.
