Some studies have shown that turmeric plays a major role in obtaining white teeth, free from yellowing, pigmentation, and calcareous deposits, in addition to its great ability to treat oral health problems, such as cavities and gingivitis.

How to whiten teeth with turmeric

The method of using turmeric to whiten teeth is simple, all you have to do is follow one of the following methods:

Put turmeric powder on the brush and brush your teeth with it.

Add a drop or two of mint extract to turmeric powder and brush your teeth with this mixture.

Put turmeric powder directly on the teeth, leave it for at least 5 minutes, then rinse it well with lukewarm water and brush it with paste.

Mix turmeric powder with an appropriate amount of coconut and use this mixture as a toothpaste.

Choose toothpaste that contains turmeric or curcumin.

Turmeric for teeth

Turmeric should be used on the teeth only once a day, because excessive amounts of it have adverse effects, as it leads to increased yellowing and pigmentation, in addition to weakening the enamel, and the reason is due to the astringent substance in it.

Turmeric damage to the body

Some may accidentally swallow turmeric when brushing their teeth with it, and with more of it, the risk of exposure to some damages increases, most notably:

– stomach pain.

– Difficulty absorbing iron in the body, which causes anemia.

Interaction with some medications.

Kidney stones.

Allergies, symptoms of which include vomiting and diarrhea.
