Two members of “Los Topos” fell while stealing in Sidor

They seized 59 pieces of nickel with an approximate weight of 220 grams.

Continuing with the dismantling of the criminal gang “Los Topos”, another two of its alleged members were arrested this Monday in Puerto Ordaz.

Members of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) were carrying out investigative work in the Caroní municipality, when they found the pair while carrying out a theft at the facilities of the Siderúrgica Alfredo Maneiro (Sidor) company.

The military institution reported that the military brigade surprised the two subjects by removing 59 pieces of nickel chrome bars, weighing approximately 220 kilograms.

The procedure was brought to the attention of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and those indicated are being held at detachment number 62-5 of the GNB, in Puerto Ordaz.

Likewise, the evidence collected was taken to the command.

Theft of strategic material

Two months ago, two other people linked to the gang were captured while stealing 800 kilograms of strategic material in Sidor.

The authorities have reported that the criminal group “Los Topos” is dedicated to the theft of these elements, and the arrests of its members have been made since 2019, in the San Félix Center, Unare, Altos de Caroní and in the mentioned Matanzas Industrial Zone.
