Two people rescued unconscious from biogas plant

Two people were rescued unconscious from a biogas plant in Pucking (Linz-Land district) on Friday. A firefighter with heavy respiratory protection carried out the first aid for the two at a depth of around seven meters. Then rescuers rescued the two unconscious people with a basket stretcher and handed them over to the emergency doctors for further care. They were flown or taken to the surrounding hospitals, the Axberg volunteer fire brigade reported.

The accident happened Friday morning. The rescue operation was particularly difficult because the biogas plant in a farm was only accessible through a very small opening. The fire brigade ventilated the silos and then the unconscious people were rescued from the facility. The volunteer fire brigades in Axberg, Puckung-Hasenufer and Irndorf, the police and rescue services and the emergency doctor helicopter Christophorus 10 were deployed.
