Will FC Blau-Weiss Linz be active again on the transfer market? Two test players are currently being put to the test for the Bundesliga promoted team: Mathis Bruns, a 19-year-old defender from the German Bundesliga club Union Berlin, is allowed to prove himself, and 22-year-old Isaac Solet, brother of Salzburg star Oumar Solet, is on probation in the steel city. “Both are with us until Saturday. The main thing is that we’ve seen them once and then keep them on the screen,” says BW trainer Gerald Scheiblehner.

It was originally planned to look for further reinforcements in defense – but signings are not an issue at the moment. “The current budget doesn’t allow that because we don’t yet know how things will develop in the coming weeks from a financial point of view – such as the new stadium.” His coach sees himself well prepared with the current staff: “Of course, as a coach you always have wishes, but these must also be compatible with the financial framework. We’ll see if anything changes in the coming weeks.”

Assault Dash Missile not an issue

An additional alternative could also do the Linzers good in the goalkeeper position. “Nicolas Schmid is our clear number one. If so, then we’re looking for an experienced substitute,” says Scheiblehner.

Armin Gremsl (most recently Bielefeld) or ex-rapid goalie Tobias Knoflach would currently be the only free goalkeepers with an Austrian passport who are also realistic. Alternatives such as the former Rieder Samuel Sahin-Radlinger do not correspond to the price range of Blau-Weiss. It is also not to be assumed that blue and white would sacrifice a legionnaire’s place for the position of substitute goalkeeper.

Mohammed Fuseini, who was recently associated with blue and white, is not an issue. His club Sturm Graz is considering lending the lightning-fast offensive player during this transfer period. “An interesting man that we dealt with weeks ago. But then we decided on other players,” says Scheiblehner – and probably means the offensive newcomers of Conor Noss and Mehmet Ibrahimi.
