Two theatrical workshops by Sameh Mahran and Jamal Yaqout at Sharjah Theater Days

Dr. Sameh Mahran will present a workshop entitled “Arabs and the Culture of Theatrical Experimentation,” and Dr. Jamal Yaqut will present a workshop entitled “Exercises in New Theatrical Directing,” for theater pioneers at the 12th Sharjah Forum.

The festival management, headed by the artist Ahmed Bou Rahima, had announced the honoring of writer and director Abdullah Rashid in the 33rd session of Sharjah Theater Days, as the best local personality of the year. This honor came in appreciation of his efforts to enrich and enhance the status of Emirati theater and in appreciation of his renewed presence and active participation in the process. Al-Ayyam, he began his theatrical activity in 1984. He is a member of the Emirati Theatricians Association, and one of the founders of the Dibba Al-Fujairah Society for Culture, Arts and Heritage. He participated as an actor in 30 theatrical performances and directed several theatrical and performance shows. He also achieved many awards, including best actor at the Sharjah Theater Days in 2017. 2002. He was also honored in a number of local and Arab artistic events.

It is noteworthy that Sharjah Theater Days is a cultural theatrical event held annually under the patronage of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in which theater groups from the emirates of the country participate and are supervised by a higher committee from which specialized committees branch out, including the theatrical competition jury whose membership includes Arab and local theatrical talents. The days host playwrights, thinkers, and authors, in addition to major actors (pioneers, stars) from various Arab and foreign countries, to accompany theatrical performances and participate in applied seminars, accompanying intellectual seminars, and open meetings and dialogues, in order to provide an interactive environment that benefits Emirati playwrights.
