A tragedy lives a Venezuelan family living in Piedecuesta, Santander in Colombia, after a gigantic rock fell on their humble home and caused the death of two girls aged 10 and 13.
“The house is located on the hillside in difficult conditions. The landslide was minor, but it was accompanied by a large rock that fell off and fell on the room where the minors were, causing the emergency,” said William Javier Niño, director of Risk Management at Piedecuesta.
The two girls were sisters and studied in the municipality of Piedecuesta.
Neighbors in the area receive aid to provide support to the Venezuelan family affected by the ravages of winter in Santander.
“The sector is being evaluated because if this rock slides more it will cause serious damage in the lower part of the sector,” the official said.
In this department, 20 municipalities have been affected by landslides, overflowing rivers and road damage.
