Tyrol: Unconscious rescued from approaching train

A 20-year-old passed out on Thursday on a platform in Steinach am Brenner, Innsbruck-Land district) in Tyrol, apparently due to circulatory problems and fell headfirst onto the track regarding a meter below. There she lay unconscious. A police officer and a passer-by then ran to the 20-year-old and saved her from an approaching train.

Braking maneuver

The train driver also recognized the situation and immediately initiated emergency braking, the police reported. He was able to stop the train regarding five to six meters from the scene of the incident. Nobody got hurt.

The 20-year-old was taken to the Hall in Tirol hospital for clarification with the rescue service. A police officer and other passers-by were also involved in the rescue operation. The 20-year-old was handed over to them and they pulled her back onto the platform.
