Tyrolean and South Tyrolean Economic Provincial Councils support the Sillian-Sexten lift connection

Great development opportunities for the region – sustainable planning concept and extensive compensation measures are welcomed

Innsbruck (OTS) After the timely submission of further documents for the Sillian-Sexten lift connection, the procedures can now be continued quickly. The two regional councilors for economics, Mario Gerber and Philipp Achammer, see great development opportunities for the region in the planned connection.

“In any case, new developments are no longer planned in Tyrol. However, meaningful mergers can also be implemented in the future and should not be prevented. For Sillian and tourism in East Tyrol, the advantages and growth opportunities that this moving together offers clearly predominate,” emphasizes the Tyrolean Economic Provincial Councilor Mario Gerber.

His South Tyrolean colleague Philipp Achammer adds: “The connection to Sillian is not only a logical closure of a gap, but also stands as an example for the good and cross-border cooperation between the two parts of the country. So this is also a flagship project for the European region, which I clearly support.”

Both state councilors also welcome the sustainable planning with extensive local compensation measures and a modern mobility concept: “In this respect, this project also stands for the new and common path that we want to take in tourism.”
