(CNN) Pentagon spokeswoman Ryder said on Wednesday that more than 7,000 Ukrainian soldiers have received U.S. training since Russia invaded Ukraine last February.

According to a report as of March 27, 65 people returned to Europe last week following completing training in the operation of the Patriot surface-to-air missile at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

By the end of March, more than 4,000 Ukrainian soldiers are expected to complete joint training in Germany by the end of March, a spokesman said. This includes two brigades armed with Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and Stryker armored vehicles that the United States has pledged to provide.

He added that another joint exercise was underway at two training ranges in Germany, which included two motorized infantry battalions of 1,200 Ukrainian soldiers.
