Dubai: The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has announced that it has opened 356 rest centers for delivery drivers across the UAE. It will provide relief from the scorching sun as the country recorded high temperatures above 50 degree Celsius.
Rest stops help drivers to rest during work and protect drivers especially during summer and rainy season. The midday break rule is applicable in the country from June 15 to September 15. The midday break rule states that no work should be done in direct sunlight between 12.30 pm and 3 pm. Action will be taken against the institutions violating the law.

Rest areas are also useful for delivery workers who use their midday break. The project is being implemented in coordination with related private sector delivery companies with the support of government institutions.

They are set up in various areas of the city of Abu Dhabi, including Abu Dhabi Island, Khalifa City, Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Al Shahama and Al Watba.
