UAEMéx Veterinary Medicine Program Receives Sixth Reaccreditation for Academic Excellence

Due to its broad academic competitiveness and educational quality, the Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEMéx) obtained its sixth reaccreditation by the National Council of Veterinary Medicine Education and Zootecnia, AC (CONEVET), an organization recognized by the Council for the Accreditation of Higher Education AC (COPAES).

In the “Dr. Gustavo Baz Prada” of the Rectory Building, the president of CONEVET, Francisco Suárez Güemes, presented the commemorative plaque of the reaccreditation to the Secretary of Teaching of the UAEMéx, José Raymundo Marcial Romero, and to the director of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry, Desiderio Rodríguez Velázquez.

Marcial Romero assured that this fact represents that the academic quality of the UAEMéx maintains a high level, which gives certainty to future professionals in this area about the knowledge, skills and level of practice they require to exercise their discipline efficiently; In addition, he said, it supports the prestige of this institution that, for the third consecutive year, remains the best public state university in Mexico, according to the Latin America University Rankings 2023 of the Times Higher Education (THE).

For his part, Rodríguez Velázquez highlighted that this reaccreditation, valid from June 6, 2023 to June 5, 2026, reaffirms excellence in teaching and preparation of the university community, which is why it is a program chosen by applicants of the Mexican entity and other states of the Mexican Republic.

During his participation, Suárez Güemes recognized UAEMéx for following a path towards excellence. “In 1997, this Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science was the first to be accredited in the country and also the first to have received recognition of excellence in the last accreditation, which makes it one of the two faculties at the national level that “They have this recognition,” he assured.

The event was also attended by the director of Professional Studies, Sandra Luz Martinez Vargas; the academic deputy director of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics of the UAEMéx, Jorge Antonio Varela Guerrero; members of CONEVET and former directors and students of this university space.
