The Sharjah Academy for Space and Astronomy Science and Technology, affiliated with the University of Sharjah, organized a dialogue session entitled “The Future of Cooperation in the Field of Space: Preparing the Next Generation to Explore Deep Space,” in order to educate young people regarding the UAE’s ambition in the space sector and ensure progress and prosperity.

This coincides with the recent announcement of the UAE’s accession to the project to develop and establish the lunar space station, in the presence and participation of a delegation from the US Space Agency (NASA), the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and its consulate in Dubai.

Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah and Director General of the Sharjah Academy for Space and Astronomy Science and Technology, stressed the importance of organizing such sessions that would enhance ways of cooperation with local and international space and astronomy institutions, and keep pace with the country’s trends and vision in space science, pointing to the achievements it has achieved. The Academy recently launched the SharjahSat-1 satellite, and developed the Sharjah Planetarium equipped with the latest technologies and devices. (WAM)
