UAE's Union Atlas: Unlocking Geospatial and Statistical Data for Inclusive Development

ABU DHABI -> UAE’s Federal Geographic Information Center has launched the Union Atlas, which offers a comprehensive collection of geospatial and statistical data. The main objective of Atlas is to improve the operations of government and private institutions as well as key sectors in the UAE and assist in future planning. The initiative supports the country’s national initiatives to achieve inclusive development. The Atlas presents a compilation of maps, images, geographical and statistical data that showcase the UAE’s achievements in various fields and its rich historical and cultural heritage. Atlas aims to provide assistance to various sectors in the UAE such as education, health, economy, cultural and historical preservation, women and youth empowerment, environmental protection, resource development and infrastructure improvement. Union Atlas is a key initiative included in the 2022 performance contracts for federal government agencies. It was recently signed in the presence of the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The Union Atlas is designed to improve innovation and scientific research in the UAE by providing interactive maps, data and best performance indicators that reinforce the UAE’s achievements in 13 sectors.
